Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. The service

Scriber generates text transcripts of YouTube videos you provide. Transcripts are produced either from a video's existing captions or, when none exist, by transcribing its audio. Accuracy is not guaranteed and depends on the source audio and captions.

2. Plans and billing

Every browser gets 3 free transcripts. Beyond that you may buy one-time credits (which do not expire) or subscribe to the Unlimited monthly plan. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled; you can cancel anytime and keep access through the end of the paid period. One-time credit purchases are non-refundable except where required by law.

3. Fair use of the Unlimited plan

The Unlimited plan is intended for normal individual use and is subject to a fair-use limit of 200 videos per calendar month. The counter resets on the 1st of each month (UTC). If you reach the limit, transcription pauses until the next month or until you add one-time credits. We may adjust this limit for accounts that show automated, resold, or otherwise abusive usage. This limit exists because each transcription has a real underlying compute cost.

4. Acceptable use

You are responsible for having the right to transcribe the content you submit, and for complying with YouTube's Terms of Service and applicable copyright law. Do not use Scriber to access private, restricted, or unlawful content, or to build a competing bulk transcription service.

5. No warranty

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

6. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
